Thatcher's Room

I finally finished the projects I've been working on for Thatcher's room! I crocheted his name and hung it on the wall over his crib, and I also made him a mobile of forest animals. They definitely look home-made, but I think they turned out pretty cute!

Thatcher loves the mobile -- he smiles and kicks his feet while he watches it -- and now he's cooing and 'HAH!'-ing at it, too :)

Here's a close-up of his name.  I wanted his name on the wall, but since it was going over the crib, I didn't want to buy heavy wooden letters that could fall on him. So I crocheted some -- I made them up as I went along, so they're not perfect.

I wrapped a wreath form in yarn for the ring. I liked these colors together.

I also made up these little mini animals -- they're all animals that are on his crib bedding.  Here's the bear.

The deer.

The owl.

The fox.

and the hedgehog.
Here's what T sees :)

We still need to paint the walls (I'm such a procrastinator), and then I'm going to put some vinyl on the wall. But other than that, I think I'm almost done with T's room! (yeahhhh, he's almost 3 months old.  I'm slow)

Latest Creations

Here are some of my latest crocheted creations! You can find these and more at the Simple Gifts Boutique!
3660 Lincoln (behind Costco in Ogden)
Mondays - Thursdays:
3:30 - 7:30 pm
Fridays & Saturdays:
12:00 noon - 5:00 pm
Closed: Sundays

Tic-Tac-Toe game $10 (the board is a pouch -- the pieces fit inside -- and the pieces have velcro on the back, so they stay on the game board) Perfect for church, the car, doctor's offices, etc etc etc!

Cupcakes -- sold in a set of 4 for $7, or individually for $2 apiece
They're weighted with beans on the bottom, and the bottom is flat, so they stand up by themselves really well. I use one as a pincushion, but they're also great as play food -- how cute would these be with a little girl's tea set?!!!

Robots -- $10 each. I actually gave the green/blue robot away, but the navy/red one is at the shop. There's also a WAY cute girl one in pink/green, but for some reason I didn't get a picture of her before she went to the shop. She also has a pink heart button sewn on her.

Booties -- I also gave these away, and there aren't any in the shop, but I wanted to share :) Cute, huh!

Little plane -- I think I will keep this one and give it to my nephew for his 1st birthday (Shh, Sarah, don't tell Row!); but I'm thinking of making more.

A bunny and matching hat I made for my friend's baby girl. I will be making lots of these bunnies in various sizes/colors for Easter!

So there ya go -- my most recent creations! :)

Valentine's Decorations part 2

So here is the heart garland Grayson and I made last night:

You can't really see it in the pictures, but Grayson colored on the paper before I cut it into hearts. That was his contribution :)

And here are some crocheted "chocolates" I made :) They look almost good enough to eat, don't you think?! I figured what's a good Valentine's Day without some chocolate?! And this way I don't eat them all.

Valentine's Decorations

I've been trying to make some cute Valentine's Day decorations -- I don't know about you, but I always feel like my house is so EMPTY after putting away the Christmas decorations. So here's what I came up with:

I made a bunch of crocheted balls in different sizes and colors, and put them all in this hurricane jar. But it needed something with it, so I made this cute little bunny, too :) I like her earrings :)
Close-up of the bunny. You can't really tell, but her nose is a heart, too.
I also made some felt-covered balls that I hung from my dining room light fixture. I got the idea from this blog: The Idea Room
I didn't buy enough felt to make three balls like I wanted to, so I cut the scraps into hearts and just pinned them to the third ball. Kinda retarded. But kinda cute :)
Gray and I are gonna make a construction-paper heart garland later on today. I'll post a picture here when we finish it :)
******OO, just found this GORGEOUS Valentine card wreath! I think I need it!! Now, how do I MAKE it.........hmmmmm........

If anyone's interested, I got it of this website here: WILLIAMS SONOMA
Anyone have any other ideas for cute decorations??
