New Baby!

The baby is finally here! After months of pre-term labor and other issues, we now have a new baby boy! He was born on February 25th at 8:20 PM. He is 8 pounds 8 ounces and 20.5 inches long. (Much bigger than we were expecting.) =)

He is the snuggliest little baby ever and makes fun baby sounds all the time. Other than that he is very quiet and laid-back.

Mom and Baby are both doing great. It's an exciting time for all of us.

Exciting news!

Steve got Lasik eye surgery yesterday!!! :) So far, his eyes are still very uncomfortable/sometimes painful, but he really can see well! I'm so excited for him! It's my turn next...after I'm finished breastfeeding the baby! So it'll be a while, but I'm looking forward to it -- I'm already jealous of him!! I'm not used to seeing him without his glasses so much -- he's so handsome :)
I have an update on the baby as well: I went to the doctor yesterday, and I am dilated a little more -- 3 1/2 or 4 cm -- and maybe a little more effaced. She stripped my membranes (can you say OUCH!!!!!) and we scheduled an induction for Monday!!!! So I have the weekend to go into labor on my own, but we at least have an end point in sight!!!! I'm so excited! I want to hold him right now :)

Fun family time!

We had a get-together with all the "Lowe Ladies" (my dad's side of the family) on Saturday! So much fun! It was so fun to see everyone and chat -- mostly about babies and labor!! My cousin Katie just had her baby Keegan last month, so we are all so focused on babies right now!!! This was the first time I got to see Keegan because he was born while I was on bedrest, and I was so excited to hold and snuggle him!! It just made me want MY baby here even more!!!!

It was so weird to hold him with my humongous belly in the way!! I'm very used to holding new babies, but this was so funny! He just didn't quite fit!!!

Close-up of cute little Keegan!! He is so snuggly!!!

And here is the latest belly-pose!! I am seriously getting SO HUGE! It's so hard to do every-day things like get up from a chair, or put my socks on!! My sweetest husband had to help me put my boots on this morning -- and he had to help me out of the tub the other night -- I got stuck!! Everyone pray for me to have this kiddo this week, ok?! It is definately time!!!!! :)

A certain little baby needs to make up his mind....

I've been off the tocolytic drugs now for a week and a 1/2. I made it to the 37 week mark (YAY!) and I'm now well beyond it! So tell me why the Little Guy has decided now that he's quite happy to stay right where he is and not come out of his momma's tummy!!! The whole 8 weeks I was on bed rest, I had very regular contractions, requiring the tocolytics. Now that I'm off them, I've only had a few times where they've been regular. Sunday night, I was having contractions that were 5 minutes apart, and they lasted a little over an hour, but then went away. The Little Guy is just teasing me now!!! Silly baby! I am now gaining a lot of weight ( no one can tell me now that I'm not huge!!!!) and he has dropped low in my pelvis, so I'm having a LOT of pelvic pressure/pain! Really not fun! He just needs to come now, I think! :) Ready when you are, kiddo!!!

Couple workout video

This looks so fun!! I will not be trying out these moves personally for a while :) but I thought maybe others would like to get some ideas as well! Steve and I have decided we want to start working out together (after I have the baby obviously) to keep ourselves motivated, and this seems like a fun way to really work out together! I wonder if I'll look like her afterwards.... :)

Bye, Jordan!!!

Steve's brother Jordan left for the MTC last week! He's going to the Ohio, Cleveland mission, and he's so excited!! He left while I was still on bedrest, so he stopped by my house on his way down to Provo to say goodbye -- what a good brother-in-law!! He's sad that he had to leave before Baby is born, but we all decided maybe it's for the best -- Baby will be a little bigger/more durable when Jordan gets home! :) The first thing Jordan said when he found out we were going to have a boy was "I'm going to wrestle him"!!!! I think that would be a little better with a two-year-old rather than a newborn, don't you think?! It's going to be a lot quieter and a lot less interesting without Jordan around! I will miss the frequent text-messages with pictures of his latest emergency-room visit injuries, and the random calls asking how to spell random words ("Sam, how do you spell 'pheasant'? Ok, thanks, bye")!! He will be such an outgoing, fun and effective missionary!

FREE AT LAST!!!

I am officially off bed rest now!!! I can't tell you how excited I am! Steve and I celebrated yesterday, after my doctor's visit, by going out to eat at TGI Friday's, then we walked around the mall for a little bit. We got to park in one of the "Expectant Mothers" spots in the parking lot -- I got a kick out of that :) We didn't buy anything or really DO anything -- it was just SOOO nice to get out of the house and see other people for a change!! But I didn't last long -- started having a lot of pelvic pressure/pain and lots of contractions, so I had to go home and lie down again. But it was fun while it lasted! And today, I get to actually do some cleaning around the house! I promised Steve I wouldn't do too much (we want to keep Baby in for at least another week), but I'm excited just to get something done. You'd be amazed at all the things that run through your head when you can't do anything but lie in bed all day. The littlest things bug you so much! So here I go -- I'm going to go get something DONE! Yay!
